First Ricky was Mr. GIDP, then he turned into Tony Gwynn Jr...now he's turned into a mole.

"A mole, what do you mean a mole? Do you think he's a spy for some other team?

"No, he runs like a mole!".

    -------------------------------------------

Ricky, just keep raising you average and driving in runs...and perhaps cut down on your getting thrown out taking the extra base, that's the second straight game this has happened.

Manning and Hegan went nuts over that play. It could have meant the game as it snuffed out a rally. The other thing is that he could not have been sure that the rightfielder wouldn't catch it. Had he done so, Ricky would have been doubled off easily. I think he's just plain stupid.
He also looked bad on another popup down the line that went for a hit. Looked like he was loping toward it and missed it by two steps. I'm sure Johnny would have dove for it, and possibly made the catch.

I've seen Johnny Mac make that kind of catch before.

It sounds like Ricky was doomed to be thrown out the moment the ball was hit. Either he would be thrown out going first to third on the hit, or he would have been doubled off if the outfielder had caught the ball.

Ricky's best bet is to keep raising his Batting Average and clutch hitting. Perhaps these are the kind of outs he would have made earlier in the year as he got acclimated to the American League if he hadn't been GIDP'ing so much and hitting so poorly.

Ricky got two walks today! And I read that he never saw a ball that landed four feet in front of him. Ouch!

Well, Ricky DID NOT get thrown out trying to go from first to third on a single tonight against Tampa Bay, because he stayed at second!

We ended up scoring seven runs in the inning!
